Hamilton College
Hamilton College is a small Liberal Arts school in upstate New York near Utica. Hamilton has become the leader of American korfball and receives support from the United States Korfball Federation (USKF) and the International Korfball Federation (IKF) in its efforts to spread korfball throughout the United States.
Hamilton Korfball, or Hamilkorf, has revitalized the sport in the United States by hosting national tournaments, spreading korfball to other universities, and planning international tours against professional korfball players. Hamilkorf has created a resurgence of korfball interest in the United States through it's quality program at Hamilton, as well as its interest in spreading korfball throughout America. For the first time in over 30 years, the United States is an official korfball-playing nation.
Hamikorf was founded in 2009 by Louis Boguchwal with the purpose of introducing a fun new sport to Hamilton College. His sports project for the Hamilton College community has grown into an ambitious endeavor to restore a lost sport to the American public and create national opportunities for young American athletes. Louis Boguchwal gained great expertise and knowledge of the sport during his time in Scotland. As a member of the St. Andrews korfball squad, Louis helped his team win the Scottish Korfball League for the second year in a row.
With the support of international organizations, Hamilkorf is planning a 2 week tour of the Netherlands in the Summer of 2012.
