Many people had the chance to witness korfball for the first time this week at the World Games in Birmingham. If you're a local and want to get involved, please reach out to Dr. Sherri Huff from Birmingham City Schools at shuff@bhm.k12.al.us. The USKF (whose board member information is on this site) are also very excited to assist you! We hope you are just as invigorated as we are after seeing such great matches in person! The USKF is participating as part of the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama! We will be hosting a korfball demonstration on July 11-13 from 3-8PM at the Demo Sports Garden. Play our shooting game and have a chance to win a USKF T-shirt! Learn about how you can start a korfball program at your school or community! USKF Nationwide Korfball Participation SurveyThe USKF is interested in learning more about korfball activities around the United States. We would also be excited to reconnect with individuals (past, present and future) with an involvement in US Korfball.

Alabama Health and Physical Education Conference!Steve Barker and Carl Yerger will travel to Alabama to give a korfball tutorial to PE teachers attending this conference. We will also host a table to answer questions about korfball and help people get started with equipment. We are really excited to be participating!

Korfball featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live!USKF Board Member and korfballshop.com owner Steve Barker provided korfballs for a segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Steve writes this about his experience: I was recently contacted by someone asking if I sold Mikasa Korfballs and whether I was based in LA. Having replied yes the caller said they would send someone along to pick up two. With little in the way of Korfball happening in LA at the moment I was a little curious and rang back to ask who I should make the invoice to. The reply was Jimmy Kimmel Live. It turns out that the actress Charlize Theron was appearing on the show and would be attempting a basketball 3 point shot. The show had somehow found out she had played Korfball as a child in South Africa and thought it would be a good idea to surprise her by letting her take the shot with a Korfball. Of course they bought two balls just in case. Had there been more time I would have offered to loan them a Korfball post for her to use but maybe next time!

Korfball Clinic in Birmingham!!
The USKF is excited to have visited Birmingham, Alabama in Summer 2016 for a korfball clinic hosted by Dankmar Caderius van Veen and top Dutch coaches. We hope to develop a thriving korfball community in Birmingham in preparations for the World Games hosted there in 2021.
